Meet the most expensive part of my Berlin trip, the Dr. Martens Flora Boots aka my new favorite pair of shoes! I've wanted a pair of boots like these for ever, but every (cheaper) pair I tried where to slim for my feet. When I saw these for the first time I immediately fell in love and I just had to have them. I've always been obsessed with Dr. Martens! The shoes are just my style and the quality is just amazing. One of my friends now wears a pair of Dr. Martens her mom wore when her mom was her age and the shoes still look great! I even got life long insurance with these boots. So when I somehow manage to break them, they will sent me a new pair of boots!1!! What more could you want in a boot!
( I also bought a book named 'Design as Art' by Bruno Munari. So that I can start with my 'learn more about the world' goal for 2015

I didn't take many pictures during our trip in Berlin. Mainly because I was to busy partying and drinking beers. Next to that we did a bit of shopping the first day and a little bit of sightseeing the last evening. I don't really care about that, since I've been to Berlin three times in the last three years. So I know what the Brandenburger Tor looks like and we ate a lot of German food so that counts as sightseeing as well! Enjoy the few shot's I can show you haha.

I always forget how wonderful it is to visit other places. Over the next few post I will tell you a bit about my trip to Antwerp last weekend. It was the best and I definitely think I should do city trip like this more often. If only I had my driving license, that would make everything so much easier.

20092014

As I told you my boyfriend and I were busy planning a trip to London. But then we thought 'And what about Berlin, that could be fun as well.' Eventually we planned a trip to Antwerp! (Surprise!)
We'll leave next weekend on Saturday morning, do some shopping (I get to pick something for my birthday) and on Sunday we will visit the MOMU (fashion museum) and the FOMU (picture museum), and travel back home that evening. So I am really excited about that!
I have been to Antwerp once before. My friend had to take some pictures of the train station (so did I see a few here) and after that, we went shopping in the high street of Antwerp. This time we want to see some other places as well.
So if you have any tips please let me know!

Hej there, I am that girl that was super proud of the fact that she published something twice a week for a short period of time, and then disappeared for a month, again. I am so sorry, I just didn't feel like posting anything and when I felt like it again. I just didn't know what to write about. I still don't really know, but it was my birthday yesterday so I thought I should share that with you.

I had a fun birthday. It is my sister's birthday next week so we celebrated both our birthdays on Saturday. After that a close friend of mine, my boyfriend and I went to the city to celebrate further. That was really fun, I saw some friends I haven't seen in a very long time, and all the people I have been hanging out lately were there as well. I had a wonderful time! I got a new beautiful MAC lipstick from my little sister and extra working space for my Macbook pro and a new raincoat from my parents! (I am wearing both in the picture)

In the time that I was absent, my three weeks off have begun. Last week was the first one so two more to go. The plan for up coming week is work (I work at the Bijenkorf in Eindhoven, tomorrow you will find me at the shoe's department), the opening of a pop-up shop in Geleen, Unseen and a party on Saturday. So that's all nice as well. Life is looking brighter for me again, and I am ready to share it with you again. Even though (or mainly because) you're still invisible. Have a great week!

So right now as I am writing this my parents and sister are in New York for two and a half week. And my boyfriend is leaving in a couple days for three weeks traveling through Europe. And I am left all alone in Eindhoven stuck at my internship. From the beginning I knew it was going to be difficult to work the entire summer holiday, but now I am actually starting to regret it.
So to keep my mind of the fact that I feel really lonely right know, I start searching for something to look forward to. (after this really depressing phase of this year) The first upcoming fun thing is Pukkelpop 2014! Really looking forward to that (I went there two years ago as well)
But after that nothing. Absolutely nothing accept three weeks off in september. But with nothing planned that also sounds very boring. So I started looking for train tickets to Copenhagen, but that shit is extreeeemly expensive. So after that I thought Berlin, but my boyfriend is already going to Berlin during his trip through Europe. And he has never been to London before, so I guess we're going to London. As you might remember (or not) I went there last summer and the summer before that. So I am a little less excited about London. Don't get me wrong I loooove being there and getting there is sooo cheap. But it is not that new anymore. But like I said it is cheap to get there and well I do everything for le boyfriend (if he asks nicely of course).

I know how to get in London, but if you have ANY tips about staying please say so. The hostel I stayed at last year was ok for a shopping trip with a friend. But I actually want to stay a little longer with my boyfriend. So tips are more than welkom!

As soon as I heard about the ELLE Festival I wanted to go. But after I found out that I had to pay for a ticket I kind of forgot about it. Luckily for me the studio I am interning at, showed one of their carpets at the ELLE Festival (see first image) and they got two free tickets left. So yay for me and my mom. I had a great day even though it took us about 4 hours to only get to Amsterdam.
We went to the ELLE Palvioen and the graduation expo of academie artemis for styling. Even though the ELLE Palvioen wasn't very big, everything looked beautiful! And the graduation expo was really busy, but also really beautiful. Especially my mom was really exited about the expo. I had a fun day in Amsterdam, but I don't know if I will visit the ELLE Festival again. We'll see next year. Until then let's enjoy the pictures I took. (My 50mm lens and I are starting to get the best friends ever!)

I've read a book. That's actually not a weird thing, I read books all the time. Most of them are about dragons (The Inheritance Cycle) or about bastards who use there special powers to murder the enemies of the king (The Gaseer Trilogy) And I could go on but I think you get the point. I looooove fantasy!
But I also love girls who rock! Like Sophia Amoruso.
Just for the people who read this and don't know who she is (shame on you, lol jk) She is 'the founder, CEO, and creative director of Nasty Gal, a $100 million plus online fashion retailer with more than 350 employees.' (Thanks google!) And she is awesome!
I really liked her book. (a lot more than Alexa Chung's book 'It') In her book Sophia writes about her life and how she got where she is now. But she also gives great tips about how to become a #GIRLBOSS, about how to get a job, how to start your own business, etc. I found the book really inspiring and I definitely felt like she was talking to me. Because at my best moments I consider myself a #GIRLBOSS. The only negative thing I have to say about it, is that because she isn't telling her story in a chronological way. I felt like like she was repeating herself sometimes. Other than that I really enjoyed reading it and I would definitely recommend it!

Last week I went to the Fashion Clash Festival in Maastricht. I've been there before (two years ago, you can even read about that here and here). And even though it was small back then, I really liked it. Last year I couldn't go, but this year I heard about it just on time. So my friend and I decided to go.

We went on saturday and when we got there around 2 o'clock there was nothing. Apparently they weren't open until 4 o'clock. Which I think is really stupid, saturday is the most busy day for a city like Maastricht. Unfortunately this wasn't the only thing I thought was disappointing. Two years ago they had a market where they sold designer pieces and vintage. This year the only things I went to were the concept store in the city. Which was 'ok' but not really inspiring. And we went tot the market where they sold clothing from young designers. I really did not like it there. The designers all looked sooo bored and made my feel super uncomfortable. They looked at me as if they knew I wasn't going to buy anything, and I knew I wasn't buying anything. So I kind of stayed away from what they sold.

The free exhibition was really small. But I guess that's what you get when you go to a free exhibition. It was inspiring though. So not really a disappointment but still. The pictures below are all from the exhibition. We also went to one of the shows. It was the Graduation Fashion Design MAFAD show. They showed the collection of 4 graduated student from the art academy in Maastricht, Milou van Esch, Dusty Thomas, Gelena Roizen and Lara Beckmann. This was actually pretty cool, I tried to make some pictures but they all turned out blurry but you can see them on the fashion clash website.

Eventually I had a great day with Roxanne, but I am not sure if I will attend the Fashion Clash Festival event again. Maybe if I have a nice person to go with and nothing else to do that weekend.
Anyway enjoy the pictures I did take!

Hej I've got some new shoes! And I think there so beautifully white that I don't want to wear them because I think I am going to screw them up!
I went to Utrecht with my boyfriend. Because they gave me a day off at my internship and we wanted to go to Utrecht for a while. I think that the Adiddas store was the second store we went. And when I saw that these were on sale well I just knew I had to had them. I think I have reblogged the black and white version about a billion times on tumblr. And even though I wanted to save for a pair of all white nike air max (look how beautiful they are here, here, here) They are just sooo expensive! I am just really happy I bought these eventually!

source style scrapbook, my edit.

How amazing are these shoes! I am completely in love with them. They look like the perfect sandals for summer. Well and because I am stubborn, also in spring, autumn and if possible in the winter. They are from mango, but I couldn't find any more information. If only it was summer.

Dr. Martens shoes are defiantly in my list of obsessions. I only own two pair but I am really proud of them and there will be loads more in my closet in the future. Last year Agyness Deyn collaborated with Dr. Martens and this spring there will be a part two of this collaboration. I told you that I wanted a pair of black Dr. Martens sandals, but this collaboration made me second guess that because the new collections are so cute! Check out the video above every thing about it is so adorable. And it kind of makes me wish I was so awesome as Agyness Deyn. xxx

The Life Of A Art Student

Don't you just hate all those lazy bloggers that give you an instagram update every freaking week. I feel your pain, and I am so sorry that I am putting you through this. I am crazy busy, I am trying to have a social life, be good at school and sleep. And that already kind of impossible. So blogging isn't really my priority right now. Don't worry I am not stopping blogging, I love it to much to stop. But just don't be to mad at me if I am quiet for a while and then when I find the time I only give you some instagram pictures.
Pictures 1, 3, 7 and 8 show somethings school is putting me through haha. Picture 2 shows my precious Bullett magazine. It is sooo pretty, my sister gave me a subscription on this magazine for my birthday. The 4th picture shows my new perfume, Marc Jacobs' daisy. I wanted this perfume since the moment I knew it excited (without even smelling it, it looks so pretty) but I thought it was a little expensive. But after carving for it so long, I finally decide to buy it anyway and I couldn't be more happy with it. I went to LeLe (picture 5) on saturday, which was really fun. A little bit short but still really awesome. And last but defiantly not least, my new cat watch. I loveeee it, a while a go I saw it on asos. And when I finally decided to buy it, it was sold out. But it got back in stock and now it is finally mine <3
The rest of my weekend is going to be full with homework and party's. Have a lovely weekend! XX

Finally Eighteen!

dress H&M divided

Hello there! I am now talking to you as a adult, seen the fact that I turned 18 last friday! I had a great birthday! Of course I had to go to school on friday, but I treated everyone on cake and everybody was really nice to me! Friday evening I went home and when I was home my friends were there and we ate more cake! Saturday I spend most of the time doing my homework. And in the evening I went out, I haven't had so much fun in a really long time! Talked to many people, drank al lot and danced the entire night.
Now week three on the art academy has started. And of course I am swimming in homework. But fortunately we have a day off this tuesday. Well not really a day off, because we must go to the graphic festival in Breda. But I call it a day off because it is fun and we don't have to go to school. So I am excited about that. And then this weekend Breakfest (a festival) and my sisters and my birthday for family and friends!
Bought the dress yesterday, I had a week moment and had to shop! Also bought some socks for in my new shoes (with dots, they are really cute!) which I got from my mom for my birthday (and my driving lessons + license) Have a great week! XX

Nothing happens when you sit at home - Elliott Erwitt

Hello there! Another short post today. Seen the fact that I am awake since 5:30 am and it's about 15 and a half hour ago. So to say that I am quite tiered is an understatement. Being a student is killing. But I can sleep till noon tomorrow because school doesn't start until 1:15 pm. Other good news is that after longing for sooo long for a SLR camera and finally it's mine! So the quality of my pictures will be better in the future. Talk to you soon! XX

ps; this is my hundredth post, yay!

I Am Singing Along Like There's No Tomorrow

Hello dears, I thought that looking at the things I bought was getting boring. (I personally think it is) So instead you can watch my face, yay (or not) The past few days were quite boring. No they were extremely boring. Starting off by being sick after Rock Werchter. Then my face still looked like a mess for the rest of the week. And I worked my ass off and did almost nothing fun or with people that where out of my 'liefdespoel' (three best friends) Of course I did some fun thing, well one fun thing. A thing I have been doing waaaaay to much lately: shopping! I did it so much lately, especially for a person that has spend most of the past year studying for tests and sleeping and partying if I wasn't studying, that I am actually sick of it. I bought too many clothes, shoes and sunglasses lately that I started to buy new make-up. Something I do rarely. Bought my very first mac product ever: eyeliner (of course) so that's kind of special (I think) Further noting special happened, well apart from the fact that I finally found a room in Arnhem! I am soo happy with it! The house is actually quite small but the room is 22 M2. Which then again is quite big. On 6 august I will get the keys and then I can start decorating! I am of course really excited about that, but also scared to death. The hole living on your own thing is starting to come really close now.
Anyway, I will spend the rest of my week working, sleeping and hopefully partying. Have a lovely week! XX

Went Shopping Again

Long denim shirt; levis, sweater; Polo Ralph Lauren, orange dress; H&M, floral top; H&M, T-shirt; H&M, sunglasses; H&M

So before I went to Rock Werchter, I went one day outlet shopping with my sister and mother. And I went one day to Eindhoven with friends for the last things for Werchter (like sunglasses haha). In Eindhoven I also searched for mint blue shorts but I couldn't find them so the next day I also went to the H&M here in Sittard. Where I couldn't find the shorts either but where I did find the dress, top and t-shirt. Eventually my mom bought the shorts in Maastricht when I was in Werchter so I also got those c: Today I had to work in the afternoon, but I got sick so I went home early. Tonight I am going to bed early and sleep to noon, hopefully I will feel better then tomorrow when I have to work again XX
