On a normal friday I spend my entire day at my internship. But this friday was different. Because I went to the graduation and graduation expo of the art academie in Breda. I had never been to this school before but my internship supervisors (don't even know if that is the right way to describe them but anyway) graduated there six years ago. A former intern graduated today and they were part of the board of examiners. So they had to go and they asked me to come. And of course I said yes. I spend most of the time at the expo because I didn't really knew anyone who was graduating, and I just really wanted to see the work they all made. You can enjoy my beautiful iPhone pictures above. And I will write the names (and if I can find their site) of the people who I liked most here to. (I liked a lot more, but I didn't wrote everything down. The names are only from the cards and other stuff I took.)

Up until now 2014 has been very good to me. I had an lovely New Years party with some friends, spend the first day of 2014 in bed with my love and for dinner I ate my favorite dinner. On the second day of 2014 I had the most fun day with my boyfriend in Den Haag. Where I bought a gray t-shirt dress and an perfect blue sweater from cos. To be honest I’ve been buying a lot of (expensive) sweaters. You could say I got over my (black) dress addiction and got an brand new one. But I wanted this a simple dark blue one for a long time and this one from cos was perfect and only 30 euro’s in sale. So don’t you judge me! Today is the last day of my holiday, I already cleaned both of my rooms so I guess I am ready for it. I am sort of happy that school is starting again. Because I can use some structure in my life again. But then again I am not really looking forward to getting up early in the morning. Anyway hope you had a great vacation and talk to you soon! xxx

On 6 and 7 november my classmates and I went to Playgrounds Digital Arts Festival. Playgrounds is a festival for innovative and creative digital arts. It is actually three days, in Tilburg, Eindhoven and Amsterdam. It was a really amazing experience, very inspiring. I am glad they made us go both days even though it were really long days full of listening. The three presentations I liked most were Genevieve Gauckler, Marcus Wendt of FIELD and Polynoid. The last one was definitely my favorite. Polynoid. Not only their work, but also their presentation. They talked about how they started, from art school up until where they are at now. They showed us a lot of their progress but I still have no clue how they made their animations. It is just so amazing. Loom is their graduation project and represents their style amazingly. You should really check it out below:

A while ago (October 1st, to be precise) I went to the exhibition 'Anthon Beeke, it's a miracle' at Pier Hein Eek, with school. You probably know Anthon Beeke of his nude alphabet, the curator of the exhibition was Lidewij Edelkoort. Who was also the main curator of the MoBA '13. We had to pick one of his works and make a presentation about it, what it looked like, what it was about, but also what it reminded us off. Tell you more about that, first I want to show you some of the pictures I took.  These are only works of Anthon Beeke himself, at the exhibition was also a part about his students. Maybe I'll show you that some other time.

These pictures were taken for a school project. The concept behind them is that I am photographing people who give me a 'sunny feeling'. But I wanted to photograph them from this kind of angle because these people are so familiar to me that I don't need to see them entirely to recognize them.
This is only part one because I want to photograph some more people, like my sister and some other friends. But I wanted to show you these because up and until now I am quite happy with the way they turned out. Have a great sunday xxx

Hello there, you probably wondered where I was. Or if you haven't I won't blame you. I had some struggles lately. First of all the pressure of school just became a little bit too much for me. I started to doubt if maybe I started to soon with the living on my own, new city, new school, new people, my boyfriend and parents living on the other side of the country. Next to all that stuff I also started to feel very insecure about myself. Not only about my work but also about my looks. If you know me personally you I have eczema. When I was a child I had it really bad, but when puberty came my eczema disappeared almost completely. Now with all the stress of school it's back. And that's not really helping. Not at all actually. But the past few weeks I got a lot of support and love from the people around me. And I am finally starting to feel a lot better. So I hope you will for give me for not posting anything lately and I will not promise you that I will posting something very often now. But I will do my best, for now I just wanted to tell you what's going on. I mean that's what my blog is kind of for right?

Have a great easter weekend by the way! xxx

So I think I am breaking some kind of blogging law. Because these pictures are from the Graphic Design Festival in Breda where I went last summer with school. I was cleaning my laptop, because I have a shit load of pictures on my laptop that I am never used or going to use. So I also came across these, and thought why not share them. I am a week off from school and I have a lot of fun things to look forward to. Had a concert of lower than atlantis yesterday which was really awesome. And I am going a day to Amsterdam and a day to Rotterdam with my mom and than this weekend a day Antwerpen with two of my best friends. So there probably be some more recent pictures soon xxx

EDWARD BURTYNSKY
is a Canadian photographer and artist that we discussed in my photography class. I love the way he makes such beautiful images from really horrible situations. Nature transformed through industry is a predominant theme in his work. Picture source

Well it took me about a month to figure out which way I want to go with my blog. Because I promised you that I would blog more in the new year. But at the same time time I wasn't motivated at all to do any thing. This just didn't feel right. So I actually started thinking that I should stop blogging. But I just don't want to. I am not going to be a perfect blogger and there will be a lot of school breaks (gotta love my education when I comes to free time) But I am not giving up so easily. My blog will mainly consist out of inspiration and school projects. So there will be mainly pictures and less text. That's the reason why my new layout is really simple because I want to focus on my blog especially on the pictures. Hope you like the new changes and hopefully these changes will motivate me to blog more often. xxx
